Tips on Time Management | Our Greatest Weakness

Salam alikum ladies!

This week's blog will be based on time management and a few tips that we would recommend to master this art. It was suggested by Mariam Aliah.

Whether your a student, full-time employee, mother, wife or an entrepreneur (in some cases a bit of each role), time could be your greatest weakness. Reality is we can't stop time but we can try to manage it. By managing it, we don't mean just doing so for a few days, but implementing it on a regular basis and on even the smallest aspects of your life.

We have compiled a few points which you may find useful in improving your time management.

1. Stop Blaming Procrastination.

We've all been there. Blaming the concept of procrastination as if we have no control. This sometimes even allows us to justify our procrastination as if it is beyond our control. Reality is, you are in full control of when and how soon your tasks/activities are complete. If you allow yourself to procrastinate, you lose on valuable time which only has a knockoff effect on your other commitments.

2. Prioritising Tasks

It's so simple. Every task has some sort of level of importance or deadline which needs to be met. Simply list them according to this and start working on those that are on the top of the list gradually working towards the least important on the list.

3. Organising your tasks ahead of time

The night before and in the morning. Remind yourself of what needs to be done tomorrow or today. I find that doing this whilst I am doing my skin-care nightly and morning routines works best.

4. Always allow extra time in-between

God knows what other deadline or situation might be awaiting to rush to the top of your priorities list with no advanced notice. Always allow some spare time for the unexpected so that if and when it does happen, you're time ready.

5. Make the most out of your travelling time

The average commuter spends two to three hours a day on commuting to school or work. If you just use a third of that time whilst commuting to tick some tasks off your list then that's an extra hour of free time added onto your day.

6. Ensure to make time for yourself

A balance is so importance. We aren't robots and making some time to just unwind by doing whatever makes you relax is crucial. Whether that means catching up with friends, watching TV, or just going to bed a little earlier than usual, if you don't treat yourself to this then you're body and mind simply won't work to their full potential.

We hope this blog post has been beneficial in some way to you.
