Georgette or Chiffon?

What are the differences?

The images below illustrate the differences between the two fabric variations.

As you can see, chiffon is a very sheer and light-weight fabric (which makes it very good for a draping hijab style), whilst georgette is slightly thicker and more versatile (allowing you to style and maintain the hijab easily).

Both fabrics share the same flowy and drape properties. The sole difference between the two materials is the level of opaqueness and versatility (georgette being more opaque and versatile than chiffon).

CHIFFON Fabric GEORGETTE Fabric

- Light-weight - Slightly heavier than chiffon

- Opaqueness: Low - Opaqueness: High

- Texture: Soft - Texture: Soft

- Flowy - Flowy (controllable)

*Both would require a cotton hijab cap to ensure full coverage.
